Mr T was asked to carry out repairs to a rented house. When he arrived no one was home so he went to post a “sorry I missed you” card through the letter box. As he pushed the piece of paper through the bristles on the letter box he was bitten on the ring finger by a dog which no one had told him was in the house. The injury prevented him from working for a few days and restricted him in what he could do at the gym and round the house. We were able to secure an early admission of liability and following a report from a plastic surgeon put forward an offer of £2,500 which was accepted and the claim settled.
